VALENTINES BENCH

By request here's a picture of the Valentines Bench. I hesitated even photographing it this time of year. It's surroundings right now are pretty bleak with spring still a couple of months away. I placed it back by the raised iris beds. It will also have iris and perenials blooming behind it, which is why I wanted a bench with no back. Anyway, something to look forward to: sitting amongst the sweet, cloying, scent of iris, soaking up the sun on a cement bench! Sounds downright reptillian, or maybe (and I like this better) very cat like!
Speaking of cats! This one's for my great niece, Emma, who loves kitties almost as much as I do!

VALENTINES DAY EXCURSION

Dennis took the day off! Well, he had to work a few hours in the morning. But by the time most people are eating breakfast, he has already worked 3 hours! So just the two of us escaped and headed out 99W towards Amity on a quest for a place that makes cement fountains and benches. We found the shop, the curved, backless bench I've been wanting for years, and these beautiful veiws of the coast range with the snow still way down low thrown in for good measure! I don't think I've ever enjoyed Valetines Day more!

I hope they never take their view for granted!

"OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING. OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!"

"I've got a wonderful feeling! Everything's going my way."
Just makes you want to sing!

"This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms 118:24

SPRING FEVER!

Sunshine and mid 50's - perfect conditions for a case of Spring Fever. I've got it bad! How I've missed the dirt under the fingernails! Well, not that part, but the getting it there is so rejuvenating!

I've discovered the secret to treating Spring Fever in case the weather doesn't cooperate is to plant early blooming bulbs like the early crocus pictured above and of course pansies which bloom all winter here! Make sure to plant them where you can see them easily from a window.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES!

What a difference from last weeks snowstorm! Today we had 58 degrees and sunshine! It's hard to believe that it was just a week ago that we got another 4" of fresh snow on top of our 3" base. It took till Wednesday till I could get to the cat cage without crunching through snow. I should have shoveled I know, but hey, it usually melts by afternoon! The weather was so cold and nasty that we got lazy and took most of our pictures through the windows. Of course could it be that we were actually getting tired of bundling all up to go out and take pictures? My fingers get so cold and numb photographing the snow. Ever tried it with gloves? The top picture is looking out our bedroom window. The second picture is from the kitchen window, and the one above is looking down from the family room window. This is my little Fringe tree planted last spring from Daryl's nursery of couse. I hope it blooms as prettily as this come iris time!
Well, this could be "goodbye" to snow until next year! However, we have pictures of a good snowstorm as late as March 10th!

PATRIOT'S UNDEFEATED SEASON DOWN THE...

SUPER BOWL? I couldn't believe what happened to my Patriots and their undefeated season! I was with Sheba, in hopes they could miraculously "pull it out" clear till the last seconds of the game ticked away. Well, I guess there's always next year! It was a very good game. It had me on the edge of my seat with knots in my stomach the whole time, especially since it was just Dennis and I watching here at home, and he was for the Giants! The kids went to the church to watch at the Super Bowl party they had there. Jeremiah was the only one who came home disappointed. I live with a bunch of Giants!!
