NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND

After a wonderful lunch catching up with Jess & Drew we headed for the "Cliff Walk" and some of the very famous mansions located there. The Vanderbilt Mansion was first on the list. It's gates dwarf all else, including Grammy, Grandad, Jess, & Drew! You can get a peek at the mansion through the gate below. Everything is done on such a grand scale at these mansions, from gates to benches!
The Cliff Walk takes you down a nice path behind the mansions and expensive summer houses next to the water.We had a great first day together and really enjoyed our afternoon in Newport, Rhode Island. Now back to our hotel outside of Boston. Jessi got us reservations at Marriott's Residence Inns, where we had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room with a sofabed, and a kitchen. We also took advantage of the swimming pool and hot tub in the evenings. What a treat!
