TULIP MANIA!

DO NOT WORRY!
"See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you. O you of little faith? So do not worry...but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Matthew 6:28-33

ANIMANIACS!

Crazy, crazy weather!!
Moses is hiding out in a dry spot under a bench laying in wait for...or just watching?
You'd think this picture was taken this winter, except for the forsythia in the background!
This is Andy. He showed up one day and started helping himself to the black oiled sunflower seeds I've been throwing out every morning for the birds. At first I shooed him away, but he was so cute, and he was sharing nicely, so I named him. Remember the squirrel in "Funny Farm"?
This little guy is one of the many hummingbirds that visit our feeder hanging right in front of our kitchen window. It sure makes cooking a lot more enjoyable! Of course it takes me twice as long and I might be leaving out ingredients, but so what! I think he was especially grateful today for a handout, since all of the blossoms are covered in snow!

BLUSTERY BLOOMS!

At this rate, I wonder if the lilacs will ever bloom this year!
Christmas Cheer Rhododendron is all snuggled down in a downy blanket of snow!
I love weeping and arching, so the red berberis in front of the yellow forsythia caught my eye. Yes, it's been so cold that the forsythia that was blooming a month ago when I last posted is still going!
The queenly delphinium holding court.
Can you guess what flower this is?

FAIRYTALE?

We feel like we're living in a fairytale! We woke up to almost 2" of snow in places! This is April 19th isn't it? Remember our previous post "Harbingers of Spring" and the peach tree covered in snow that would hopefully soon be covered in pink blossoms? Well, how about both at the same time!

The Crown Imperials are crowned with snow!
Blossoms or snow?
Good old pansies will withstand anything and keep right on blooming! Hopefully I'll be able to say the same for all the rest of my plants! At least the snow acts as an insulator, all be it a 32* one!
